End of Week Tidbit: Anjelica Huston

About 2.5 years ago, Oscar-winning Tinseltown scion Angelica Huston put The Fortress, a nearly 14,000 square foot compound in Venice, CA, on the market with an optimistic $18 million price tag. She shared the he hybrid art studio/residence with her late husband, sculptor Robert Graham. The walled and gated compound, just a couple hundred feet from the circus-like boardwalk and beach, includes an approximately 3,800 square foot residence with three bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms and a voluminous 10,000-ish square foot multi-story art studio arranged around a private, central courtyard.

After two massive price cuts and three failed escrows—including once canceled by software heiress and movie producer Megan Ellison—the mixed-use property finally sold to an anonymous buyer, as was first revealed by the real estate rubberneckers at The Wall Street Journal, for $11.15 million.
